【比較福祉研究】政府、市場、家族や地域の役割を踏まえ、支援を必要とする高齢者、障がいのある人たちが自立して生活できる社会、安心して暮らすことができる社会のあり方を研究する。（国際比較ではスウェーデンやノルウェーなど北欧社会、近年はドイツ、韓国における地域包括ケアと市民参加の研究に力を入れている。）
【地域福祉研究】福祉事業の多くは慈善事業として始まり、行政の事業と担われてきた。今日では市民の関わりなしでは、福祉サービスの展開を考えることはできない。社会福祉における住民参加（政治的参加、経済的参加、社会的参加）や当事者参加のあり方、ボランティアの意義を研究する。近年では特に、コ・プロダクションの概念をもとに、協同組合による介護と医療の提供が生み出す社会的価値についての研究に力を入れている。 |

私が現在取り組んでいるのは、人間の活動を阻害する障壁や障害とそれらを乗り越えた先にある共生を考える質的研究です。その切り込み方には様々な観点がありますが、私は特に、ことばやことばの活動に注目し、その活動が生み出す障壁や障害にまつわる、他者、あるいは自身の経験を描くことを通して、共生社会の実現に向けて乗り越えるべき社会的課題を洗い出すとともに解決の糸口を探しています。
共生は人と人の間に生まれるものであり、そこにはことばによる対話があります。そして対話は他者理解を通した自己理解と自己変容をもたらすだけではなく、相互理解へと導いてくれる可能性も秘めています。共生の原動力であるとも言えるこの対話をもとにした研究や実践を通して、多様性を理由とした障壁や障害と共生という言説の記述を行なっています。 |

研究のテーマ：自然科学、哲学、芸術などの人間の諸活動を、人間の社会性を基盤として理解するための基礎的理論研究
研究の一般的背景：人新世時代とも言われる現代社会の諸問題の多くは、経済や社会、あるいは人間のモラルや自然科学など、通常は区別される領域が複雑に絡み合っている場所において生じています。たとえば環境問題はその典型例でしょう。このような現代の諸問題に取り組むためには、人間、自然科学、社会、経済という四つの基本カテゴリーのあいだの複雑なありようを、一貫した視野のもとで総合的に理解する新たな思考枠組みを構築する必要があると考えています。 Research topics: basic theoretical research to understand various human activities, such as natural science, philosophy and art, on the basis of human sociality. General background to research: many of the problems of contemporary society, also known as the Anthropocene era, arise where usually distinct areas, such as economy, society, human morality and the natural sciences are intricately intertwined. Environmental problems, for example, are a typical instance of this. In order to approach these contemporary problems, we believe it is necessary to construct a new framework for thinking that comprehensively understands the complexities between the four basic categories of human beings, natural science, society and the economy from a coherent perspective. |

１）人生の歩みにおけるさまざまな節目において躓いたり立ち止まったりする人々と、その人生の歩みを支えようとする支援者たちの間で遂行される日常的相互行為を対象として、ドラマトゥルギー（演技論・演出論）的観点で質的フィールド研究を行っています。そうした相互行為からは、周囲を取り巻くモノや他者との、あるいは、自己自身の身体や過去の記憶との新たな共生のあり方を追い求める人々の姿を見て取ることができます。 ２）人生の節目で行われる儀礼（あるいはその痕跡）とそれに関連する神話的言説の構造を分析することで、その儀礼の意味や機能を明らかにする神話学研究も行っています。1) From viewpoint of dramaturgy I study on various interactions of our everyday life concerning education and welfare. 2) Through analysis of rites of passage and mythical discourses I also carry out mythological study to clarify meaning and function of them. |

山崎吾郎 Goro YAMAZAKI

新しい科学技術によって身体がどう変化するか、またそれにともなって社会の認識や構成がどう変化していくのか、その相互的なプロセスに関心があります。これまで、日本の臓器移植医療などをとりあげて、主に身体（body/corps）の変容に注目して研究を進めてきました。最近は、コミュニティという社会体(social body/corps social)の衰退や変容について考えながら、「近代」が想定してきた 基本的な概念をとらえなおすことに関心を寄せています。文化人類学が専門ですが、哲学や科学技術社会論といった関連する分野との交流や協働にも興味をもっています。
My research interest is in understanding the reciprocal processes of transformation between body and society, both from a theoretical and an empirical perspective. I work on an anthropological research concerning organ transplantation and some other medical practices. Currently, I also do research in shrinking communities where society (social body) transforms through depopulation. These interests have led me to collaborate with people from other disciplines such as philosophy, Science and Technology Studies, etc. |

災害場面（救援、復旧、復興、防災）で活動する災害ボランティアと人・モノとの共生について、グループ・ダイナミックスの視点から、活動現場に参加して恊働的実践を行い、様々なアクションリサーチを展開して、明らかにしていきます。具体的には、緊急時の救援活動、被災地間の関係、災害体験の伝承、長期的な復興交流、地域防災の活性化といった活動の現場で災害ボランティア活動に参加しながら、背後にある社会・文化・歴史的背景に関する理論的考察を行い、現場の改善に寄与する研究を目指しています。国内では、熊本地震、東日本大震災、中越地震、阪神・淡路大震災などの被災地、海外では、台湾集集大地震などの被災地に注目しています。
Kyosei of disaster volunteers with people and things have been investigated from the perspective of group dynamics; collaborative practices followed by action research at various phases (i.e., search & rescue, recovery, revitalization, and preparedness) of disaster fields. We have attempted to contribute, academically and practically, to the betterment of the disaster field. We participate in disaster volunteer activities such as, for instance, disaster relief in an emergency, relaying supports from disaster fields in the past to the current fields, transferring and remembering experiences of disaster, long-term recovery and revitalization, and disaster preparedness in community. At the same time, we theoretically analyze their socio-cultural and historical backgrounds, Currently, we focus on domestic disaster fields after Kumamoto Earthquake, Great East Japan Earthquake, Niigata Chuetsu Earthquake, and Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, as well as international disaster fields after Taiwan Chi-Chi Earthquake. |

宮本匠 Takumi MIYAMOTO

災害復興について、実際の支援活動に加わりながら、内発的な復興がいかに可能なのかを研究してきました。とりわけ、外部支援者の受容的な役割に注目し、よりよい未来を描くことが困難な被災地において、どのように人々が自らの生の豊かさを支えるよりどころを再認識し、よりよい生を実現できるかに関心があります。研究手法としては、被災者に災害から現在までの出来事をあらわす曲線を描いてもらい、それを意味づけながらインタビューを行う復興曲線インタビューや、当事者自身が自らの生活や復興の様子について調査を行う当事者調査などを行っています。最近は、災害直後の災害ボランティア活動のあり方に着目し、現代社会におけるよりよい助けあい社会がいかに可能なのかについても研究を進めています。
I have been researching how endogenous recovery from disasters is possible while participating in actual relief activities. I am interested in how people in disaster-stricken areas, where it is difficult to envision a better future, can reconfirm the foundations that support the richness of their own lives and realize a better life, focusing on the receptive role of external supporters. My research methods include recovery curve interviews, in which survivors are asked to draw a curve representing events from the disaster to the present, and then interviewed while making sense of the curve, and surveys of the survivors themselves, in which they themselves are surveyed about their own lives and recovery. Recently, I have been focusing on the nature of disaster volunteer activities immediately after a disaster and studying how a better mutual aid society is possible in today’s society. |

権藤恭之 Yasuyuki GONDO

2000年から慶応義塾大学と共同で現在まで東京都23区の百寿者および全国の超百寿者の方達を対象に訪問面接調査を行ってきました。2010年より、東京都健康長寿医療センター研究所、慶応大学医学部と高齢者の縦断調査SONICを開始。現在、超高齢者を対象に健康長寿を達成するための要因を研究している。どうすれば超高齢期をしあわせにすごすことができるのか、その環境づくりに関心を持っています。

He started his carrier as gerontologist in 1993 by start working at the Tokyo metropolitan institute of gerontology. He got Ph.D. by papers about cognitive aging. He joyed Tokyo centenarian study in 1999. Since then he interviews more than 400 centenarians. He started larger epidemiological longitudinal study named (Septuagenarian, Octogenarian, Nonagenarian Investigation with Centenarian) with collaborators in multi-disciplinal researchers all over Japan in 2010. The main purposes of he SONIC study are to clarify aging-related changes in multiple domains of human functioning and the dynamics of interaction among these domains throughout the extreme old age period and to identify the factors influencing healthy longevity, including psychological well-being. |

近藤佐知彦 Sachihiko KONDO

英国でコミュニケーション論（修士）とディスコース分析（博士）を学び、構築主義の視点から社会心理学的な諸問題を分析してきました。現代人のアイデンティティ構築や、社会における正統性の獲得プロセス（例えば立憲君主制国での一般人の平等意識）などがメインのテーマになっています。本学では英語交換留学プログラムのコーディネーターが本務ですので、ディスコース分析に加えて留学生教育やグローバル人材育成教育も守備範囲に入ってきています。日本のような非英語圏大学における英語による専門教育の妥当性などについても論じる機会が増えてきました。大学国際化施策全般の批判的分析のかたわら、本学におけるその企画立案および実施に取り組むことも増えてきました。今はディスコースの手法を使いながら「国際化」の意味を問うていきたいと考えています。
Studied Communication (MSc) and Discourse Analysis (PhD) in the UK, Kondo has looked at social psychological subjects from constructionists’ point of views. Kondo has been hugely interested in the process of justifications of social realities amongst ordinary people (namely ideology), such as the idea of modern monarchism (Constitutional Monarchy). At Osaka University, working as a coordinator of an English speaking exchange program, Kondo also looks at International Student Education and Global Competency Education. He therefore researches some related topics, which includes tertiary education in English in non-English speaking countries. What is more, as a specialist of international student education, he plans and implements a number of university’s international strategies with several professors and administrators at Osaka. Kondo now dreams to focus on the meanings of internationalisation (and globalisation) of the education, using discursive techniques. |

宗教的利他主義・社会貢献、市民社会のアクション・リサーチ、ソーシャル・キャピタルとしての宗教、宗教施設を地域資源とした地域防災に関する研究が主な研究テーマです。災害支援の仕組みとして、スマホやPCで使える「未来共生災害救援マップ」（http://www.respect.osaka-u.ac.jp/map/）も運営しています。グローバル化が進む今、現代社会と宗教は重要なテーマとなっています。私の研究室では、現代社会の諸問題に真摯に向き合い、宗教社会学や現代社会学の理論をベースに、支え合う市民社会の構築に資する学際的な研究を構想します。フィールドワークを重視し、研究方法としては質的調査を主とします。

災害や事故のあとに行われる慰霊祭や追悼式の調査研究をしてきました。主たる調査地は、東日本大震災やスマトラ島沖地震の被災地、そして長崎市です。フィールドワークや資料調査から得られたデータを、苦難とどう向き合うかという観点から考察しています。災禍の儀礼とよばれる記念行事のほか、災害遺構の比較調査、無形民俗文化財の三次元計測の研究もしています。
I have been researching memorial ceremonies after disasters, such as commemorations of the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and the 2004 Indian Ocean Earthquake and Tsunami. I examine data collected through fieldwork employing the perspective of suffering. In addition to studying post-disaster rituals, I have conducted comparative research on disaster remains and intangible cultural heritages. |

途上国の安全な水と衛生（トイレ・手洗い・月経対処）に関する課題、社会開発との関連について研究しています。最近は、日本を含めた学校保健における衛生教育や月経をめぐる課題にも関心を持っています。研究のベースとしているのは、国際協力に文化人類学の知見を応用しようとする「開発人類学」であり、フィールドワークを通じて、現場の人々の生活や視点を知ることが大切だと考えています。
主な対象地域は、ウガンダ、ケニアを中心とする東部アフリカです。トイレや衛生教育、月経対処への関心から日本も研究対象にしています。 My research focus is on water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) issues both in developing countries (particularly Africa) and in Japan. 教育社会学・比較教育学を学問的基盤とし、グローバル化が進行する時代における「共生社会」と教育（特に学校教育）に関する研究に取り組んできました。特に、個人研究活動としては、既存の共生社会論や共生教育論の精緻化を行うために、南アフリカ共和国西ケープ州での現地調査に基づいた研究を実施してきました。他にも、共同研究活動として、日本の家庭科教科書における外国につながる人々やその暮らしの描写のされ方に関する言説研究等に従事してきました。中でも、アフリカの教育普遍化と格差に関わる比較研究などを通じて、日本国内外出身の研究者との国際共同研究活動を展開してきました。
現在までの研究活動で注力してきたのは、学問的営みとして共生社会や共生教育論の観点から現実の出来事を記述することに徹するのみならず、現実を生きる人々との関係性を重視することです。その中で、様々な背景の人々と共に、「共生」について考え、その実現を目指す上で障壁となっている出来事の解決策を協働で探索してきました。 Based on sociology of education and comparative education as academic disciplines, I have been conducting studies on ‘living together society’ and education (especially school education) in the era of globalisation. Specifically, as part of my personal study activities, I have been conducting studies based on field researches in the Republic of South Africa in order to refine the existing theories of living together society and education for living together. In addition, as part of my joint study activities, I have been engaging in discourse studies on how people who are connected to foreign countries and their lives are portrayed in Japanese home economics textbooks, etc. Particularly, I have been developing international joint study activities with researchers from Japan and abroad through comparative studies related to the universalisation of education and disparities in Africa, etc. What I have been focusing on in my study activities to date is not only to describe actual events from the perspective of theories of living together society and education for living together as an academic work, but also to value relationships with people who live in reality. By doing so, I have been thinking about ‘living together’ and working together with people with various backgrounds to explore solutions to the obstacles that stand in the way of realising it. |

文化人類学の視点から、国際協力が実際の支援対象地の人々にどのように受け止められ、展開しているのかについて研究しています。調査地は南アジア、特にネパールです。研究を始めたきっかけは青年海外協力隊員としてネパールで廃棄物処理に関するプロジェクトに携わったことでした。活動の中で、地域固有の状況と国際開発協力の言説の狭間で、自分たちなりに活動する現地の人々に出会い、その活動について研究するようになりました。2015年にネパールで大地震が発生し、調査していた村も大きな被害を受けたため、国際支援組織や調査村のコミュニティ組織と連携し、日本での募金活動や被災地でのボランティア活動を行いつつ、災害人類学的な調査も行うようになりました。
From a cultural anthropological perspective, I am researching the ways in which international cooperation is received and implemented by the people in the communities where it actually takes place. My study site is South Asia, particularly Nepal. I started my research when I was involved in a waste management project in Nepal as a Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteer (JOCV). Since the earthquakes in 2015, from which severely damaged my study site, I have been conducting disaster anthropological research in parallel with relief activities in cooperation with international aid organizations and community organizations in my study village. |

グローバル化する現代社会において、健康、エイジング、教育、少数民族、環境、食の安全、国内格差、災害などの切り口を含め、国際協力・ 社会開発学、国際保健・人口学、社会政策学、社会学、ジェ ンダー、オリンピックなどの視点から、地域研究を行います。研究対象地域は中国や中央アジアのシルクロード地域に限らず、カンタベリー地震が発生したニュージーランド、またオーストラリアやアメリカなどの研究者らとの国際共同研究も行っています。方法論の確立はもとより、英語、中国語をはじめ研究対象地域の言語の習得も重視し、現地調査を伴うアプローチが奨励されます。世界銀行や世界保健機関（WHO）など国際機関勤務の経験を生かし、学際的研究を行います。
In a globalizing society, the transformation of China into a regional superpower has a great influence not only on local geopolitical order in Asia but also on international society. China’s economic growth and world-leading aging population have created a challenging policy, public provision, and global diplomacy environment. In this context, we explore various social issues, including population demographics, health, environment, food safety, information/censorship, disaster impacts (Sichuan earthquake for example), Olympics, as core areas of study. Associated with these issues are multi-disciplinary considerations such as international relations, social development studies, international health and population, social policy, political science, sociology, gerontology, and gender studies. Our research area is not limited to China, however, and we perform international collaborative investigations with researchers from New Zealand, Australia, United States, Europe, and the Central Asian Silk Road area. We place importance on rigorous research methodology, and encourage our researchers to obtain supplementary language skills to support research, including proficiency in English, Chinese and other languages and emphasize an importance on field work and cultural competence. |

日本を主な調査地として、病気をめぐる文化、身体、科学技術との相互作用を研究しています。病院、実験室、患者会など、多種多様な医療現場において2003年からフォールドワークを積み重ねることにより、慢性病の増加に伴う身体感覚の変容について探求してきた。またここ最近は、調査範囲をハンガリーと東アジアに広げて、薬用植物の栽培および研究開発を調べ始めています。創薬に焦点をあてることで、未来を生み出そうとする多様な実践に内在する人間および動植物の共生を描き出し、また伝統医療と近代医療との交差から見えてくる、比較方法の新たな可能性を探ります。
Gergely MOHÁCSI is a medical anthropologist with special interest in science and technology studies and comparative ethnography. His research has focused on the embodied interactions betweenscience, medicine and society in contemporary Japan, most notably in the domain of diabetes self-care. He conducted fieldwork in hospitals, laboratories and patient groups in Japan and Hungary. Currently, he is investigating the co-constitution of things and values in the development and use of herbal medications in Japan and Southeast Asia. By highlighting the entanglement of different medical traditions and the multispecies interactions between medicinal plants and humans in the process of producing new medications, he aims to explore the new possibilities and challenges of ethnographic comparison. |

人と自然との共生を、生態系サービス（自然の恵み）という視点から、研究しています。生態系サービスは、人と自然との関係を幅広くカバーしており、食料供給や水源涵養から、美しい景色を見て幸せになるという精神的な便益まで多岐にわたります。そのため、自然科学・社会科学・人文学のアプローチを統合して、学際的な研究を目指しています。現在、興味を持っているのは、養蜂やアナツバメの巣採取といった自然環境に依存する農業、生態系サービスを維持するための仕組みや環境政策、伝統文化や食文化と健康、狩猟における人と鳥獣との多様な関係、ボードゲームを使った地域の環境問題解決などです。人科の敷地内で養蜂と園芸を実践しています。海外のフィールドは、インドネシアやカンボジアです。 |

私は、人が豊かな生活を送りながらも、自然やほかの生き物と共存できる方法を知りたいと考えています。そのためには、①自然の特徴や仕組みを理解すること、②それと調和していくための方策を考えること、の二つのアプローチがあり、その両方について保全生態学や共生学の観点から研究を進めています。
I like to know how people can live with nature in a sustainable way. There are basically two approaches: 1) understanding ecological characteristics and processes of natural ecosystems, and 2) develop social systems balancing between conservation and utilization of nature. My research focuses on both approaches based on the perspectives from conservation biology and human-environment coexistence. |

ヒトや動物がどの様に生き、どの様に死んでいくのかに興味があります。彼ら/彼女らの生き様は、種や集団や個体によって違っている一方で、共通している点もみられます。最近は、勝山ニホンザル集団（岡山県真庭市）と淡路島ニホンザル集団（兵庫県洲本市）を対象とした比較研究を行い、それぞれの集団に見られる行動特性の違いが神経伝達関連遺伝子の多型と関連しているのかどうかを調べています。特に、淡路島のニホンザルは、特異的に寛容な攻撃性の低い社会を形成していることが明らかになっています。社会の多様性がどのような理由で生じるのか（文化や遺伝的背景）、それによって個体の生き方がどのように変わっていくのかを発達的に検討したいと考えています。

I am particularly interested in understanding the role of family in the school to work transition process in rural and urban Madagascar. Recently, I have been exploring different areas such as higher education, education funding, and the role of the local community in school management. I mainly conduct fieldwork at school and in the community in Madagascar but recently, I was exploring the slum areas of Nairobi and the rural area of Kajiado in Kenya. |
